The Nollywood obsession

I have a craving for Nollywood movies…and I don’t know why. Maybe its all the African music I’m listening to..ama the colourful clothes I have on…hmmm…Generally I love Bollywood movies..and love Aishwarya Rai. She’s gorgeous..and more beautiful than Sienna Miller or Kate Moss..please someone tell me what is so gorgeous about these two?? Seriously, the decide to buy some hideous shoes and clothes..and women stampede the shops in search of similar outfits…despite the differences in weight and body shapes..anyhu, I digress….What I want is a really dramatic Nigerian movie.. with a story line..and proper sound quality..unlike some where you have to crank up the volume to sijui full blast just to hear what they are saying…

So yes, for those that love me, do the necessary and send me a movie or two. will be appreciated

Moving on, was at Twickenham last sato for the rugby..So Kenya didn’t win but yes…hott men..kwanza we got into a bit of a friendly fight over Number 7…sigh..good times As usual there will be little annoyances but such is life yes? Saw one idiot who had the nerve to say hi to me..Was about to get pissed then remembered how pretty I was looking…so said hi and moved on…I did have a little rage..but got over it…coz thinking about it..he’s the one who lost out..whoopp, whoopp!!! As my dear pal says “I’m juicy baby”…its always good to say hi when you know you are looking good…this isn’t vanity (just to be clear)..its a healthy appreciation of myself

Last thoughts: Watched Tristan and Isolde with my girl… and had a bit of a weepy session…and we learnt the consequences of lying..let me explain..when you meet a guy, he asks for your name, and you say “Mary” or “Susan”…knowing full well that its not..well.. you need to watch this movie..those tabias will stop ASAP!

Under rated….stew and love

I’m tired of listening to over hyped singers..sometimes it seems that the media (tv, radio…can I say clubs??) think they’re only 5 singers in the world…kinda annoying..like the time they couldn’t get over “Please don’t stop the music”!!! I wanted to throw something on the tv..just to make that noise stop!!

So yes…a list of some under rated singers…makes me wonder why they aren’t hyped up..but then again mebe I’d get tired of listening to them everyday?? So yes..feel free to add on the list. (Mr. B2B… you kwanza I insist ..and yes.. Archer, and 31337 as well ) [Note: I’m just singling them out coz they have mentioned music in their posts/ comments before..so yeah..nothing sinister..)

• Solange- Gosh..I didn’t know she could sing that well…I love “Sky away”…and she’s so pretty!
• Michelle Williams- She did jack all in Destinys Child..but she has a voice..listen to her gospel album..quite good methinks.
• Amel Larrieux- float away kind of music….bliss…Love the BraveBird album
• Bilal- first heard of him when he did that duet with Beyonce…neo-soul lovers..this is one for you!
• Deitrick Haddon- I mean..I love Kirk Franklin..I really do..but the secular music biz needs to know this man..for real
• Regina Spektor-For those who like kooky music…give her a listen.
• Teedra Moses- R&B….amazing!
• Cheri Dennis- Methinks Diddy should have promoted her a lil’ bit more.

Yup…feel free to add on to the list .. PS..I love the Kenyan Neo-Soul scene as well…pity I don’t know most of their names (I know..shame on me huh??) But love Carol Atemi…Sema (ok..the one or 2 neo soul songs they did), Kaz has quite a nice voice….yes..when I get the rest of the names this post shall be duly updated.

Random thoughts: Was cooking with my girl..and we realised how sometimes men don’t realise the effort we have put into cooking the food..You could have pored through recipe books..and cooked..only for him to say “Nice stew”…oh dear..

And yeah..realised today..family means more than the people you are biologically related to. Maybe being away from home really drums that into you..but yes..my friends (the close ones..lol) are my family…yes lots of love..kisses..hugs..good things

Lack of game

So some people are born idiots..its a fact of life. Being a Christian I’m trying hard not to think evil thoughts about some people but its hard not to..Case in point being:

Rem my french housemate? Lets call her Eve. So yes she is quite pretty and smiles a lot so looks even prettier. She was one of the first people I met here and have loved her since. Its a case of opposites attracting. She smiles ALL the time…while I rarely smile at every Pierre, Andreas and Wanjogu I come across. (MoMa rem that post??) We study the same subjects, so spend quite alot of time together in uni.

There is this idiot of a grown-ass man called Alex (real name) in uni from Portugal, who developed a bit of a crush on Eve. Now let me make this clear. The man has a GIRLFRIEND…and Eve has BOYFRIEND…. still, that doesn’t deter him from trying to make moves on my girl. The thing is, she always smiles, so the poor deluded fool still thinks he has a chance even when he is been rejected…As in the chic ignores his emails and calls…talks bout her man 24/7 …is he really that dumb???

So what do I have to do with it? You ask? Well the poor deluded man thinks the reason my pal isn’t receptive to his advance is coz of me… ME ?????? hahahaha…didn’t I laugh!! He writes her a long-ass email saying he wanted to get to know her better but seems he was unable to. Then he asked if I had a problem with him, coz I have apparently given off a bad impression of myself (by not smiling with him)..and I seem to be possessive with Eve…hahaha!!!!! WTF!!!! I don’t care who she talks to…why should I??? The funny thing is that the boyfie comes to me and tells me to keep up with the good work..and keep those idiots away from his girl..hahaha…I have laughed.. Just as a btw, I’m not possessive, or protective…my pals think its coz he’s scared of me. lol

That man should just accept that he has no game..and he was getting nowhere with my pal..not try and put his short-comings on me..Ashindwe kabisa!

Uh Oh

Made a really hard decision today, and I’m still not sure I did the right thing. It feels terrible to hurt someone you care about so right now I’m feeling like a biatch…not liking myself right now. Could this be a big mistake? Something I’ll regret for a long time?? Only time will tell. I’m just trying to do what I know is right. It hurts, but not as much as I thought it would..infact there is a small sense (behind the denial) of relief. Does that make me a bad person?? Oh dear, I hope not. I just can’t deal with unwanted issues right now, and as there is no pensieve in sight, I have to do what I must.

Sultry, this is where your lil tips on being fierce and fabulous would so be appreciated..get to writing. I just want to curl under my covers with a bottomless bottle of Manzana (thanks love for introducing me to this stuff..it rocks!)

So the grey mood is back.. and no sign of any mollycoddling on the way…aarrrgghhh, can’t wait for this cloud to pass.

Last thoughts: Being having a craving for ragga and reggae recently (explains the playlist). I just want to lie on a beach somewhere sunny (preferably the Carribbean islands)…eat hot spicy food and sip cool cocktails…sigh, if only wishes were horses…

Playing with fire

I’m just wondering…what motivates some women to go after men who they know are taken?? I mean seriously…what would you do if you knew that your man was being chatted up by some girls..who all happen to be much younger than you? And you as the man, what makes you not tell them that you’re taken and so they should keep the banter on a friendly note??? Is it coz you enjoy being flattered ama?? (right now I don’t want to consider the alternative).

Question: (I’ve been having quite a few of these huh?) If you knew that your significant other used to regularly go through your messages.. emails.. contents of your wallet/ handbag, what would you do? And on the other hand, ever gone through your beloved’s stuff?? why would you? (I rem one ex of mine who went through my phone messages in a fit of jealousy..and since then things were just weird..I used to think only women had tabias* like that but wasn’t I surprised..tsk tsk)
