Hum-Tum

July 21, 2008 · 14 Comments

This means “Me and you” in Hindi….so Val and her sis spent this weekend catching up on another of their vices…Bollywood flicks…so those watched include: Hum-Tum, Mangar Padeley, Don, and other majinas I can’t spell out here…yeah we got a 20 in 1..abit of a rip-off coz the Hindi films are so long in reality we had 10 movies boasting a part 1 and 2…

Have to say I was quite impressed…I used to watch the movies when Metro used to bring them on Sunday afternoons..they all featured some form of dancing..and element of revenge..and some badly acted action scenes..the kind where you hear the blow before the person is actually hit…

But something I noticed in the films we watched….the Bollywood scene has really chanukad…I mean the action scenes actually look realistic..I mean..take Don for instance..a typical action movie..I was quite riveted…from fighting for a parachute mid-air..to cliff top fighting scenes…DRAMATIC!!!!!! This was the only movie which didn’t have a love story element there…I was jazzed!!!

Another thing I noticed…those guys like to base their movies all over the world…I mean we went from Canada, to London..to Paris..then err..back to Mumbai and Delhi…I don’t get why its still a status symbol to say you’ve been abroad…or mebe thats just me..

The usual singing minstrels..the outrageously gorgeous women were a must…I mean those women are hot! (permit a few jealous thoughts here and there)…

Something that jazzed me was that they actually translated the songs as well..I was used to seeing subtitles for the movies but not for the singing scenes..all I can say is I can see why approx a fifth of the worlds population live in India..coz those song lyrics..Gatho!!! I advise all men to sit down for a session of a Hindi film..with a notebook and pen..and write down those lyrics..and thank me later…Women, when those lines work for you…needless to say I shall be at that wedding with a huge hat (á la Victoria Beckam at the Cruise wedding…)

So yeah..that was my weekend….

Now back to other business..my beloveds and I were having a discussion..and this is the question for you bloggers…what is the right time to bring up the “L” word??? And why do some people feel the need to pressuring their other halves to say it first so that they can be comfortable saying it??? I mean, I’ve always thought that if you feel you love the person, you should say it when it feels right to you…ama???

As usual..shout outs..This time to the Todo Sobre Unit…for listening and providing me with drama..We rock!
